Ola Electric has announced its entry into India’s ₹1 lakh crore battery energy storage system (BESS) market with the launch of Ola Shakti, a residential energy storage solution powered by the company’s indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cells.
Built at Ola’s Gigafactory, Ola Shakti will be available in four variants — 1.5 kWh, 3 kWh, 5.2 kWh, and 9.1 kWh — with introductory prices ranging from ₹29,999 to ₹1,59,999 for the first 10,000 units. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on Makar Sankranti 2026.
Designed for high efficiency and zero maintenance, the system provides instant power backup, supports heavy appliances, and offers smart app-based controls for seamless energy management.
Chairman Bhavish Aggarwal highlighted that the initiative marks Ola’s expansion beyond electric mobility, leveraging its cell technology and infrastructure to accelerate India’s clean energy transition. With its BESS Gigafactory, Ola expects annual demand to exceed 5 GWh, surpassing its electric vehicle segment consumption and strengthening the company’s leadership in renewable and energy storage solutions.
