NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Union Ministry of Coal, has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation Limited (NCRTC) to develop a 110 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic power project in Uttar Pradesh.
NCRTC, a joint venture of the Union government and the states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, is implementing the project through a special-purpose joint venture company. The solar plant will be set up, commissioned, operated, and maintained by NCRTC, with NLCIL selected as the project developer responsible for execution.
The project is expected to be completed within 24 months from the signing of the power purchase agreement (PPA). Once operational, the solar plant will supply a significant portion of NCRTC’s electricity requirements, strengthening the corporation’s commitment to clean and sustainable energy for large-scale urban and transport infrastructure.
This initiative aligns with national objectives to promote renewable energy adoption, reduce carbon emissions, and integrate clean power solutions into public sector infrastructure projects, supporting India’s broader climate and sustainability goals.
